It ties up with major banks and payment gateways. User sends a SMS message with formatted text of amount, PIN and who to pay for. That then gets processed on a server, data gets parsed out to get into the database and then the actual payment gets forwarded to the clients. It also sends response to the user saying that the payment was received and confirmed.
